National Oldtimer day in Lelystad

Departure from Wormer in the pooring rain

Sunday June 17th it was the day of the 23rd National Oldtimer day in The Netherlands. Latest at 9:30 am we had to report ourselves in Lelystad and with 1 meeting point on the route an early departure was needed. At 7:30 am 4 Corvettes left from the clubhouse in Wormer in the pooring rain. The new softtop on Mike's 65 leaked considerably and also Rene' in the C1 and Eddy in the C3 could not keep it dry.

Waiting in the rain

At the BP tankstation just before Lelystad we agreed to meet Joep and Piet. After waiting in the rain for 20 minutes we found Joep and at exactly 9 am Piet was also there. Here we go........when driving up to the highway we joined a group of Classic Bently racing cars from the thirties.

Rene' and Theo did a great job on creating an NCRS banner for this event.....thanks guys! To protect ourselves against the pooring rain Andre' surprised us with a party tent which he had stowed in the trunk of his C1.
